How to Use Bubble Wrap
- Measure the product: Measure the length, width and height of the product before cutting the bubble wrap.
- Cut the required quantity: Cut enough material to completely cover the product. Keep additional material for corners, edges and overlapping.
- Place bubbles towards the product: For most products, keep the bubble side facing the item and the smoother side facing outward. This allows the bubbles to cushion the product more effectively.
- Wrap the complete product: Cover all sides of the product and overlap the bubble wrap at the joining points.
- Add extra protection: Use additional layers around fragile areas, corners, edges and projecting parts. Highly fragile or heavy products may require multiple layers.
- Secure the wrapping: Use packing tape to secure the bubble wrap. Whenever possible, apply tape to the wrapping material instead of directly onto the product surface.
- Place it inside a suitable box: Put the wrapped product inside a properly sized corrugated box.
- Fill empty spaces: Use additional bubble wrap, paper cushioning or another suitable void-filling material so the product cannot move inside the box.
- Perform a movement check: Gently move the packed box. If the product shifts, add more cushioning before sealing it.
- Seal and label the box: Close the box using strong packing tape and add a “Fragile” label when necessary.
